Camry Automatic Seat Belt
Q. My driver's side seat belt quit retracting to the driving position. It is stuck in the position near the windshield and will not go against the drivers chest when the door is shut. This quit working out of the blue. I checked fuse, but it is okay. The passengers belts still operates. Is there a switch in the unit that may go bad?
The 1988 Toyota Camry repair manual really does not say. Any help would be appreciated.
A. There are a few possibilities here. The seat belt motor may be bad. The seat sensor, track limit switch could be bad or the Seat Belt Control Module could be bad. If you are good with a VOM, let me know and I'll send you some troubleshooting information.
