Honda Accord Hail Damage

Q. Hi, My brand new 2003 Honda Accord V-6 was damaged by a hail storm recently. I received advice from the Honda dealership where the car was originally purchased and another from an auto body repair shop. One said that they would putty the roof to get the dent out.

The other said they would have to cut the roof out and replace it. Could you please tell me which method is a safer, and more stable way to repair car roof damage? I am worried about long term effects of the body repair.

Thank you...

A. Both are good repair methods and neither offers any safety problems if done correctly. It all depends on how big the dent is. if it is small, say 12 inches or less, I would go with pulling it out a bit and putty it over. If it is bigger, then I would consider Cut & Paste.
