Ball Joint Seperator

Q. Hello, I have a question, do you have any suggestions on how to separate lower control arm from steering knuckle ball joint. It is stuck tight and we can't get it off. I have tried spraying lube on it over night but it won't budge.

Thanks,
Shea

A. There is a special tool for separating the ball joint from the control arm. It is called, surprisingly, a ball joint separator or ball joint fork. You can get them at Sears or almost all parts stores.

You put the fork between the ball joint and control arm and using a BFH, hammer it in until the joint separates.
