Ford Taurus Has Not Putting Out Heat

Q. I have a 1992 Ford Taurus, 3.8 liter with about 130,000 miles. My problem is recently I replaced the radiator and since then I have very little or no heat. My A/C works fine. My cooling fan comes on very soon after I start my engine thus not letting the engine heat up. I have also tried four different thermostats. Any suggestions?

Ford Taurus Has Not Putting Out Heat

A. Even if the radiator cooling fans come on, the thermostat will keep the coolant in the engine from going into the radiator if it is not hot enough. However I would try unplugging the cooling fan and seeing if that helps the problem. If it does, then you need to check the cooling fan temperature sensor.

I would use a thermometer to measure the actual coolant temperature when the fan kicks on. It should kick on at about 215°F and shut off at 210°F. If so, the cooling system is good and the problem lies elsewhere.
