Ford Taurus Wheel Bearing

Q. Hello. My 1995 Ford Taurus is having it's second wheel bearing replaced this week. It's covered by our extended warranty, however the warped rotor is not, unless it's a result of the warranted problem. Can driving on a bad rear wheel bearing cause the rotor to warp? One guy says yes, the other no. I'd just like a straight answer.

Thanks,
Glenda

Ford Taurus Wheel Bearing

A. It is conceivable for a bad wheel bearing to cause a warped rotor, but in reality, I very much doubt it. It is far more likely the warped rotor caused the wheel bearing failure.
