Nissan Pathfinder Dash Lights

Q. I have a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder with 86,000 miles. I'm having problems with my dash lights. At first, the light behind the fan control knob on the A/C panel didn't come on. It's been that way for a few months. The lights behind the other knobs (temperature control and the other one) had been working. Now they are out as well.

Nissan Pathfinder Dash Lights

The A/C, heat, defrost all work perfectly fine, just no lights behind the knobs. At night, it's like a black hole. The dash lights behind the speedometer, etc all work fine. I have checked all the fuses (inside and under the hood) and they are all okay. I installed my own CD player in this vehicle, so I'm familiar with removing the trim panel, etc, but I can't find any light bulbs ANYWHERE. What do I need to do?

Thanks for your help...

A. Since you said the panel had knobs and not levers, and that they went out one at a time, I'm going to assume you have Automatic Climate Control. If that is indeed the case, the bulbs are inside the Control Module and you can not replace them. Actually, they can be replaced, but you can not get the bulbs anywhere. I used to canilabize them from bad units I replaced and have a small suppy of them for replacements.
