Celebrity Stalling Revisited
Q. Okay, it's been awhile since the first question, but we've replaced the TCC solenoid, as well as the oxygen sensor, and had the fuel injectors cleaned.
Now the car does not stall like before, but occasionally will stall right after starting and put into reverse, or rarely when I am idling at an intersection when I try to start up again.
The rest of the time, while driving, it seems to have difficulty shifting, kind of "coughing" and jerking the car. Once at a steady speed above 40 or so, it's fine, but slowing down it will jerk many times again, or speeding up. Also, when just idling, it "revs" the engine, as if it's not getting enough gas.
Could this still be the TSB problem you described? Or something else? We've had it taken to a local mechanic, but not a dealer, and he couldn't find anything technically wrong. We did notice it ran better if we put fuel injector cleaner in it, but only for a day, but now even that doesn't seem to help. He said the fuel injectors weren't bad, but I'm wondering if we need a second opinion.
Thank You.
A. It took me a while to find your original question, but I did find it.
The symptoms you describe still do sound like a TCC problem and since you replaced the TCC solenoid I think you're going to have to look further into the transmission. As I said in your answer this is something a transmission shop or GM dealer will be able to confirm.
You can get a second opinion on the engine condition to positively rule out an engine problem. This certainly will help to confirm it is a transmission problem.
