Prizm Oil Change
Q. Vince, I recently purchased a new 2000 Chevy Prizm. I like doing my own oil changes as required and as suggested by the auto maker. My question is, when I referred to the owners manuel for direction as to how many quarts of oil will be needed to replace the old oil, I could not find this in the owners manuel.
The Chevy Prizm is a 4 cyl. 1.8 liter. What do you suggest a comfortable level would be as to not over-fill.

A. Oil capacity with oil and filter change is 3.7 liters (3.9 quarts). Oil capacity with oil change only is 3.5 liters (3.7 quarts) Recheck oil level after filling. A little over or a little under is okay.
Recommended oi; is SAE 5W-30 preferred or SAE 10W-30 can be used above zero Degrees F.
