Camaro Wiper Problems

Q. I have a 1997 Chevy Camaro SS with a 5.7 litre engine, 6 speed manual. My windshield wipers would stay in the up position when switched off, so I bought a rebuilt motor from Napa. After installing it the wipers went past it's stop at the bottom of the windshield.

I repositioned the arms, switched it on and it stops in the up position again. Now did I damage the park circuit when it went past it's stops? Is it a bad motor or is there some other problem?

A. If there is a big massive parking mechanism bolted to the crank arm, it's probably where the problem lies. There is a little tab that catches the linkage when shut off to park blades. You may need to see a dealer about this one as there may be a cheap fix instead of buying a motor or crank arm assembly.
