Q. Vincent, I am currently unable to get my car started. I have narrowed it done to the ignition module have no voltage at the ignition coil. Is the module in side the distributor for my vehicle? If not were is it located?

Fuel Injection

Thanks...

A. You don't have an ignition module per se, ignition is controlled by the ECU or, as BMW calls it, the Motronic Control Unit. With the Motronic system, primary current switching and dwell period are controlled within the MCU based on signals from the TDC, reference and engine speed sensors. The MCU controls ignition system operation, including ignition timing, and the electronic fuel injection system based on signals from various engine and vehicle sensors. On these models, the ignition distributor is used only to direct secondary spark voltage to the spark plugs.

The MCU is located under the right hand dash board, above the glove box.
