Grand Am Check Engine Light
Q. Hi all: I have a question regarding my car. I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cylinder. The check engine light is on and the ETS off light also is on. Both lights are on at the same moment. When the check engine light is on the engine fan start to work and never turn off.
The OBD-II scan detect the code P1133. Already the mechanic change the two sensors and clear the codes from the computer. After that everything is normal again. after few days the problem is here again. The same problems. What relation are between the code P1133 and the engine fan? Why the fan works and never turn off? Please help me to fix this problem.
Many Thanks...
A. Not sure what P1133 is, but most times when a code sets, the PCM goes into a protection mode that shuts some things off and turns others on, like the cooling fan, to make sure the engine doesn't overheat. Is it leaking coolant?
