Volkswagen Jetta Sunroof
Q. Hi, I would like to check with you, what I can do about my sunroof on a 1994 Volkswagen Jetta, 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder. It has two way to be open. I open rear side up. And it stuck in this position. Actually right side can go up and down, but left side is always open. I looked on sunroof from inside. I can see how right side slider (name??) is moving, however left side slider never moved.
I tried to close sunroof manually, same effect. Left side does not move. I think it should some link (cable??) which move this slider. Could you please, explain how this mechanism work and can be fixed?
Sincerely,
LeonidA. Sunroof repairs are always a pain. In this model you can remove the cable drive separately and you may possibly wind up removing the whole sunroof carrier assembly to replace the cables and guides. This is something I would recommend only an advanced DIY to do.
If you think you are up to the challenge, it's pretty straightforward.
