Honda Accord Lights Stuck Up

Q. I have a 1989 Honda Accord, standard with approximately 190,000 kilometers on it. It has cruise and no ABS. My question is that the retractable headlights do not fold down anymore. It is not a fuse and the motors still work as they will cycle if I get them started with the manual knobs for the retractors under the hood.

Honda Accord Lights Stuck Up

Any suggestions? I think this is a chronic problem for these Honda's as I have seen several Honda's on the streets with the lights up but nobody's home... I mean they aren't on. ;-)

A. Assuming you didn't inadvertently turn on the retractor switch, the first thing to do is to check the Following fuses:

Underhood Relay Box: Dash Fuse Box:
Fuse 5 Fuse 6
Fuse 6 Fuse 7
Fuse 7 Fuse 8
Fuse 19 Fuse 9
  Fuse 11
  Fuse 14

If these fuses are good, then it's most likely a bad Retractor Control Unit. A lot of people leave them in the up position on the chance that they may be frozen by ice and snow in the closed position.
