Buick LeSabre Has An A/C Problem Q. Buddy, Long time no email to you from me. I am studying up a lot. I have a problem to ask you. On my 1983 Buick LeSabre, 5.0 liter. My A/C, someone charge me $45.00 just to put two cans of freon, and one can of that oil charge for my A/C and it have not been blowing cold air since then.

They told me that I need these three things for it to work: A new A/C Compressor, Accumulator/Drier, and the line for the A/C, I think they mean a new hose. It there's a possibility that it could be all that. I do not myself I think they just want my money.

They called Advance Auto Parts and price all that stuff, and it comes to $232.00 for all of it for replacement. I feel the air, but it are not getting cold. Well I hear the compressor click, or do it have to have more than two cans of freon to stop that click, cause at a shop today, I heard a customer talking about the same thing, and the technicians told them that it might be low in freon if it are doing that clicking, and I said I'll try and put four to five cans of freon in mine and see what will that do.

Give me good advice of what it could be. It do not leak, and the compressor do good by the way. So I'll be waiting.

A. If you have to keep adding freon then there is a leak. The freon that this system uses is very expensive unless you have had it retrofited to R-134a. System should only hold about three pounds of freon total.

The line the shop says you need is probably leaking or broken. Get it fixed or you will be throwing your money out the window by putting more freon in the system.
