Pontiac Grand Prix CTS Location

Q. I have a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.1 liter V-6, a little over 100,000 miles, fuel injected and cruise control. It gets hot when I am in stop and go traffic, the cooling fan is not coming on. I have a friend that is a mechanic that lives out of town and is very hard to reach. I did ask him what the problem was and he said it was the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS).

The problem now that I have is that I have the part, but I don't know where it goes. Also, my cruise control does not work properly, it doesn't hold the speed it will just let go like it was turned off.

A. I hope the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) fixes your problem! It is in the intake manifold near the throttle body.

As for the cruise, it could be a misadjusted brake pedal switch, a bad turn signal lever or a bad servo unit. You'll need a service manual to help in diagnosing this one.
