Stratus Vibration

Q. Hi, My car is making a strange sound, that is most noticeable on the highway, but is also present at slower speeds. It sounds like a loud vibration noise coming from the front drivers side of the car. The faster the car goes, the louder the noise gets.

It seems to be definitely not engine-based, because the car does not make this noise when stopped, and the noise does not increase in volume except when the car is actually moving faster. You can also feel the vibration slightly at higher speeds (60+mph). The noise and vibration seem to completely go away when turning right, even if it is an extremely slight turn to follow a small curve in the road.

I thought maybe it had to do with alignment. I just recently got new tires and an alignment, and the noise is still present. Any ideas?

Thanks!

A. Well, you eliminated the tires, steering and suspension so there is only one thing left, the left front wheel bearings. The fact that it goes away when you turn right would confirm this. When you turn right the pressure is taken off the left wheel bearings and they go quiet.
