Mercedes 300E Head Gasket

Q. Hi, I have a 1986 Mercedes Benz 300E with 147,000 miles. Recently I have noticed what appears to be oil in with the coolant fluid. I tried Barr's stop leak and have changed the coolant twice but the oil continues to mix with the coolant. It uses some oil but not excessive. Car runs fine. Most people think head gasket normally allows coolant into the oil rather than the reverse.

Mercedes 300E Head Gasket

Guess no stop leak additive will repair and I will have to have head gasket replaced?

Thanks,
Allen
Knoxville, TN

A. Yeah Allen, sounds like a blown head gasket to me. Since there is more pressure in the cooling system than the oil system coolant ill tend to appear in the oil.
