Looking For Diesel Engine Information

Q. Hello Vince, I'm really glad to see you're still here on About.com. You have been a great help to my friends, family and myself, providing information on vehicles that is not so easily obtain from "normal" sources. I sometime visit your site just to "read up" on a subject to gain a better understanding of an issue, just in case I ever need the information.

Looking For Diesel Engine Information

Well now I've delved into a new arena. I've just purchased my first diesel truck, 2000 Dodge with the 24V Cummins. I've always considered myself a pretty good "shade tree" mechanic, and have done pretty well. But this is new territory for me. I want to make sure I get it right, so to speak. Can you steer me to articles that will improve my low level knowledge of this new, to me subject?

Thanks, and thanks for a great job!
John

A. Thank you John, it's always nice to hear that my site is doing someone some good. I try to put something here for everyone and it's good to know it is helping.

I have written a couple of articles on diesel engines and now with gas prices over $2.00 a gallon everywhere, diesels are becoming more popular. I will be doing more diesel DIY articles in the very near future.

A good source of basic information is How Diesel Engines Work at "How Stuff Works".
