We generally like to review products that impressed us in some way. Sadly, this one from Black & Decker was impressive only in its inability to get the job done. It's a jump start epic fail with some side failures to boot. We could have gone with the old adage, "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is" but where would that leave all of the brilliant innovators in the auto repair realm? In fairness, we decided to test even the ideas that seem doomed from the start. Read the full review and you'll see what I mean.

I had a samaritan try this with a similar product one time when my work van was dead. plug into the lighter socket of both vehicles [if lighter socket does not come on then use the always on accessory socket] then go someplace and get a cup of coffee or two. don’t know how long it would have taken but after 15 min i still didn’t have enough juice in my battery to turn over the engine and the samaritan had to leave. It was his device and he offered to give it to me as he was disappointed with it’s performance I thanked him and politely declined.
That weekend I bought a battery style jumper box and have since used it on several occasions with great results.

The big problem that I have seen with these is that they cannot deliver that current needed through the small wires in the unit, and if they could they would end up blowing the fuses that go to the lighter socket. Look at the thickness of a good set of jumper cables, they are that thick for a reason!
