How To Assemble an Engine Hoist

Attach the Front Legs

With the wheels tightly bolted on to your engine hoist frame, the next step is to attach the two front legs (more like leg enxtensions, really) to the frame base. You already bolted wheels to these pieces, so they should be right in front of you.

The legs are held in place with steel pins. This allows you to fold the hoist for storage. Slide the legs into place until the holes line up with those in the base. Insert the steel pin, then secure it with a cotter pin.

To secure it with a cotter pin, insert the cotter pin into the little hole at the end of the big steel pin. Now use pliers to bend the ends back so the large pin can't slide out.
