Product Review: Hold-It Straw Holder and WD-40 Smart Straw

Anyone who has ever used a product like WD-40 or Super Tech Lubricant can attest to the problem of the lost straw. The little red straw provided by the manufacturers of these products comes taped to the side of the can, which is convenient but poses a problem for the next time you need the lube. The straw invariably falls off the can and then you can no longer stream the lube at your problem, your only option is to fully coat everything you are working on with the spray nozzle. Just recently two products have come to market that finally address this problem, the Hold-It Straw Holder and the WD-40 Smart Straw.

We saw these two new products that look like they could solve the age old problem of the missing red straw. First we tried the Hold-It Straw Holder and I have to say it worked great. Not only does it work for the can you have right now, but looks like it will last for can after can after can. A great product. Second we tried out the WD-40 Smart Straw can. This product also was everything it claimed to be. On the can it claims you will, "Never lose the straw again." They are correct, you will never need to go hunting for the straw again, because it is part of the can. You click the straw down to do a wide spray and then click the straw up to do a more direct stream of the lube. Both of these are great products but the Hold-It does have an advantage over the WD-40 Smart Straw. The Hold-It can be used with multiple products and will last long after the can you are using it for is empty. The WD-40 Smart Straw loses its appeal as soon as the can is empty. But both are welcome additions to anyone's toolbox because we have finally solved the age old problem of the lost red straw.
