Other problems with electrical connectors that you should look closley for. Any one of these will cause an intermittent problem. Wiring harnesses are put together by machine. And since no machine is perfect, defects can creep into the harness. Defects such as improperly stripped wires being crimped and not making contact. Wire strands completely, or almost completely, cut off and missing. Terminal connectors not crimped or improperly crimped.
The wire terminals may have been spread out or opened when they were tested. ![]() Connectors may have been put together improperly form the factory or have been pulled apart due to stress on the harness. ![]() Another common thing to happen is ground wires get corroded or loosen up over time. Ground wires are often packed in bundles to the same grounding point so if you have multiple problems, it may be a clue that you have a bad ground. ![]() |
