Handling No Trouble Code Problems
Your car has a problem. So, naturally, the first thing you do is check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes to see what the problem is. But there are no codes. So now what do you do?

Checking The Park/Neutral Position Switch

Purpose:
Signals the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) of gear selection.

Operation:
On vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions, the park/neutral switch indicates if the transmission is in NEUTRAL, PARK, or a DRIVE GEAR. Based on input from this switch the PCM will adjust fuel injector pulse width, ignition timing advance, and idle speed.

Handling No Trouble Code Problems

Check the service manual for the proper procedures and specifications for your particular vehicle.
