DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!
The business charged me (the customer) $711.50 without providing an estimate. Their policy states that they will confirm with the customer before charging more than $300. Additionally, their receipt clearly has a section requesting customer confirmation of the estimated charges. I did not sign nor approve such a charge and was not provided an estimate. The office had my phone number and could easily have confirmed the charges. Additionally, he indicated that there would only be minor work done on the vehicle. Upon calling the office to dispute the charges, my son was called a profanity by the manager and hung up on. I would suggest avoiding this repair shop.
My fiancee and I can not say enough about this shop and its proprietor, Ed. We have taken out 1990 Pontiac Grand Am and 1994 Saturn there many, many times over the past 7 years for all kinds of work: oil changes, tires, brakes, inspections, onboard computers, busted A/C, catalytic converters, etc. We have ^never^ had a problem with the work or the charges, and numerous times we have not been charged for minor items or when the repair was unsuccessful. For example, one visit was for low gas milage - they found the oxygen sensor unplugged and simply plugged it in again; no charge. If you need a reliable mechanic who does excellent work and is an honest man, go see Ed at High Tech.
