The reason I would rate the staff's knowledge fantastic, is because they really know how to stick it to you. The shop was clean. I took my Grand Cherokee in for some brake work. My instructions to the shop were for them to check out the brakes for squealing from the right front wheel, diagnose the problem, give me a call. They said it would take 25 to 40 min. Four hours later I gave them a call to find out what was going on... The front counter guy was all in a rush and explained how busy he was and that he hadn't worked up a price. I gave him a minute while he looked to find what the tech said I needed and he came back saying that the rotors and drums were out of spec. I needed new pads, rotors, drums, and a caliper was leaking, so I needed two of those as well. All this for the grand total of $850.00. I said no thanks and paid him $20.00 for the info. Still trusting that they were being honest, I went and bought all the tools I needed and parts for less than $200.00. While repairing the brakes, I found that none of what Precision Tune had told me was true. The reason that my front rights were sticking was that someone had zerked grease into the bleeder valve mistaking it for a grease nipple. No leaks. Nothing out of spec. And my pads looked %35 used. Everything they told me was a blatant lie. Less than $200.00 bought me all new tools, pads, rotors, and calipers and the job took three hours for this amateur. The job was actually very easy, and I have a lot of pride in that these brakes are now the best working I've ever used. Moving to a new city really leaves you open for this kind of stuff, if you don't know a mechanic or garage you can trust. I will do all my own work that I possibly can from now on.

A salesman from a local dealership recommended Steve's Auto Repair for the work that I needed on my 1985 Ford F-150. I had never been to this garage before, but I trust the judgement of the salesman who sent me there. Boy, was he ever right. Steve took my truck and replaced the transmission with one he rebuilt himself. He took his time and did the job right. I had taken this truck to another shop that had made a real mess of the vehicle, and then another shop let it sit in their lot for over a year before I found Steve. He is a rarity in the business, doing what needs to be done, and letting you know where you stand without beating around the bush. Go to Steve's. You won't regret it!
