What kind of a mechanic would put new brakes on a car and neglect to mention that the drums were no good? Technically they did what I paid for, they did put in new brakes. No more no less. And they never mentioned the drums, even after about four return trips!
Allegedly I had a brake job done in Nov, 2001. Between then and March 2002 I brought the car back several times, due to loud squeling, the feeling that the car was stopping due to the brakes locking. The last time I brought the car there, I waited for 2 hrs, shown a pile of black dust, and told it was brake dust. After a particularly scary ride, I brought it to another shop. They showed me 1)back brakes worn down to the metal 2)one back drum with a piece out of it, as if someone had taken a bite, & the other drum almost rusted through!
