Repair Shop Reviews

Lakeside
This shop was a complete rip-off! My 85 Chrysler had the dreaded Mitsubishi 2.6 4 cylinder engine. Apparently this shop did not know how to properly rebuild this engine, and took the job anyway. I spent over three grand, the engine had to go back for excessive smoking, the timing chain went bad at about 30,000 miles AND I HAD TO FIGHT WITH THEM TO COVER EVEN HALF THE COST of the chain, which should have lasted the life of the engine. The engine blew again 60,000 miles later, though I tried to keep it very well maintained and drove very reasonably. I even had mechanics to keep an eye on the catalytic converter, to make sure it did not plug up and put pressure on the engine.
I have dealt with this shop and 1 other on Lakeside for many years --- they can be trusted to give you the best advice they can, to stand behind their repairs, and to spend your money very carefully. After the owners dropped Chevron (hooray) the station still sells top-quality gas at a completive price. I noticed when their pumps were down I put a tank of Valero gas in - which my car (99 Mustang six) did not like - tended to knock on acceleration. Spirit's gas is at least as good as Chevron's, if not better.
