Defect Summary:
On certain sport utility vehicles equipped with 4.0 liter engines, the Crankshaft Position Sensor wiring insulation may crack and expose the wire.Consequence Summary: In the presence of moisture, this could result in sensor malfunction, which could cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.Corrective Summary: Dealers will replace the crankshaft position sensor. The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Owners should contact Daimler Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. |
