Ford F-250 Pickup Bi-Fuel Engine

Q. I have a 1980 Ford F-250 Pickup with a propane conversion kit. I have a problem with it getting spark sometimes. I have changed ignition switch, ignition module, complete distibuter, coil and I still have no spark. Could the propane module be defective?? If so how would I check it out??? Can you help????

Thanks,
Rodney

A. I don't think I can help you with this one. That truck did not come from the factory as a bi-fuel vehicle, so the kit is an aftermarket conversion. There were a number of companies offering them and I have had no experience with any of them.

I do know that the timing has to be changed to a certain extent for propane and how these kits do that I don't know. The best I can suggest to you is to see who's kit it is and see if you can get a schematic or troubleshooting giude for it.
