GMC Sonoma Wiper Problems Q. I have a 1998 GMC Sonoma SLS 4 cylinder auto air cruise 58,000 miles. The wipers quit working after use, it used to take 30-60 minutes before they would stop. It does not matter if they are on delay or low and I could get them started again by moving to fast position then back to delay or low and they would work again for a short while again.

After you get problem to happen open the hood and tap on the wiper motor cover or jiggle the wire harness to it. If they come back on, you need a new circuit board under that black plastic cover. Remove the three screws, unplug the board, remove the cover and the board.
