Bad TPS Symptoms? Q. I was just wondering if my Throttle Position Sensor is the cause of my engine missing? The compression was fine. I also changed the spark plugs and cables.

A. A bad TPS would or could cause a hesitation or a surge but not a dead misfire. Most likely a plug, wire, cap and rotor.
