Jeep Cherokee Coolant Change Interval
Q. Hi Vince, I was wondering how often I should have a radiator coolant change on my 1998 Jeep Cherokee? I ask because I had one done about 10 months ago and I just needed another due to, what the mechanic described as very old and dirty radiator fluid. Do you think I was ripped off when I had a coolant flush 10 months ago?
Thanks for all your great advice!
IgnacioA. If the coolant was flushed ten months ago and it was done correctly, then yes, you got ripped off. Coolant should be changed every two years or 30,000 miles. As long as there is no evidence of overheating or contamination, a simple drain and fill would suffice.
