Jump Starting A Maxima

Q. I'm having trouble jump starting my car's battery.

1-1995 Nissan Maxima SE
2-6 cyl.
3-Automatic
4-74k

The problem is that I can't place the negative clip on my engine block because the alarm will go off. I need to know how to disable the alarm before I can jump start the battery. Any advise will be helpful.

Thank You,
Kaji

A. I guess I'm wondering why you have to jump start your car so often that this is a problem.

The easiest way around this is to just clip the cables directly to the battery. It is not really recommended, but if you are careful, you can do it. What you can do is remove the alarm fuse from the fuse box before you attach the cables, this is the only way you can completely disable that alarm. (I'm assuming you have the stock, factory alarm installed.)

I would highly recommend finding out what is wrong with the battery or charging system so you don't need to jump start the car at all.
