Honda Running A Little Hot
Q. Here's the problem. My engine temperature gauge keeps reaching the H after 10 minutes of driving. It doesn't seem too hot, and I haven't seen the fan come one, because I don't really think it's hot enough anyway. There is no steam or anything.
I heard it might be the thermostat is not opening. Could this be, or could it be that the gauge is broken, or something else? Please help me with this. I am looking to spend the least amount of money possible. If it's the thermostat, I could replace it myself I think. I know you have many questions to answer.

Amber.A. Well, it could very well be the thermostat. What you need to do is start it up and let it run. You should hear the cooling fan come on after a while. Watch the temperature gauge as it heats up. If you see it getting above the H without the fan coming on, turn on the A/C and see if the fans come on. If they do, then you have a problem in the engine cooling fan circuit..
If the fan does come on then I would throw a new thermostat in it and see what that does.
