Tracer: Same Car, Same Problem Q. Hello, You answered a question for LaRosa concerning her 1989 Mercury Tracer. That it dies after driving it 15 - 20 minutes. I have the exact same problem with my Mercury Tracer. I was wondering if I could find out if she may have found the problem with her car, so I could correct mine.

I've had my car to the dealer twice and they are stumped with what is causing the problem.

A. I'm sorry Scott. People very seldom write back telling me if I was right or wrong in my guess. In addition I don't save the addresses of people who send me questions. If I did I'd need an address book the size of New York State. And having answered over 3,000 questions over the last two and a half years, I'm not even sure which answer you are referring to.

So if you have the same year, make and model of car with the same problem, what I said to her still stands.
