Pontiac Hood Release Cable

Q. Hi, I have a 1988 Pontiac 6000SE 2.8 liter engine. I was trying to open my hood and the cable snapped. The wire broke completely. I took off the grill to try to get the hood open but I still can't reach anything. Any ideas on how I can get my hood open??

Thank You,
Sherry

A. This is not going to be easy Sherry. What you're going to have to do is crawl under the front of the car and look up under where the hood latch is. Then you are going to have to get something to pop the hood release. Sometimes a long screwdriver or a pry bar will work.

There's no magic words of wisdom here, just use whatever works to pop the release. It will have to move towards the drivers side of the car to release.
