Acura Integra Power Antenna
Q. I'm having a problem with my 1992 Acura Integra Power Antenna. It would normally go up when I turn on the radio, and back down when I turn it off. Lately, it stopped moving up and down. I can hear the motor going (I guess that's a good sign), but the antenna doesn't move. It's not bent or anything, though.
I was told I could just replace the antenna (with one that has new "teeth"), but I was unable to get the old one out. I removed the special "nut" on the top, and then the black spacer, but I couldn't get the antenna to pull out. I guess I can't figure out if it's the antenna mast, or if something is broken down in the motor.
Thanks!
A. Okay, here's what you need to do to get the antenna mast out:
Antenna Mast Kit Replacement
Notes: The Antenna Mast Kit includes the mast, an improved antenna nut (0-ring type), and an insulator that provides a seat for the 0-ring.
- Turn the ignition switch ON; then turn the radio on to extend the antenna mast.
- Pull the antenna mast out of the antenna tube; then discard the antenna mast.
