Blinkerless GMC Yukon

Q. Hello, I am having problems with my 1998 GMC Yukon. The left rear turn signal and brake light do not work. I have tried changing the light bulb and that did not work. So then I replaced the flasher box and that did not work. I check all the fuses and they are okay. I plugged the right side tail light assembly into the left side and it did not work.

I plugged the left side into the right side and it worked. Do you know what the problem might be or if their is a relay somewhere that I can replace?

Thanks,
Shannon

A. You need to look under the truck to see if the harness is exposed there. It may be routed from inside the truck in which case I doubt there is a problem in the harness. I would guess a problem in the turn signal switch. Try turning on the four way flashers a couple of times to see if the bulb lights. This just may clean the contacts enough to work. Otherwise a turn signal switch or a problem in the harness at the switch or junction block that leads to the rear end.
