Grinding Camry transmission Q. Hi Vince, I have a 1992 Toyota Camry. I had the transmission replaced Nov. 2000. My car will not go into REVERSE now and makes a grinding noise. PARK seems to have switched places with NEUTRAL but the car is fine in DRIVE. What do you think the problem is? Thanks so much for your help. Tisha

A. I would have the shift cable looked at. It's possible there is a bushing worn out and there is a lot of play in the cable. I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear the other possibility.
