Honda ABS Light

Q. I have a 1994, 4 door, Honda Accord EX. The ABS light comes on sometimes when I am driving. Sometimes it does not. The car has a self-test on the ABS that it performs when you first start the car. If the light goes out after a few seconds once the car is started everything is OK. Well ... sometimes it goes out when it is started and sometimes it does not. Sometimes it goes out when it is started and comes on while I am driving. Sometimes it stays on when it is started and stays on while I am driving. Any ideas? Replace brake fluid? ABS pressure hose? ABS fluid leak or pump problem.

Thanks in advance.

A. There are so many different things that could cause that light to come on. Any one of the four wheel sensors, Vehicle speed sensor or any of the ABS motors inside the pump. The best thing to do is take it to a shop who can access the codes stored in the ABS control unit and pinpoint the problem for you.

I would suspect that one of the wheel sensors is the culprit here.
