Civic Ignition Switch
Q. I have a 1991 Honda Civic sedan. I am able to start and turn-off the vehicle, but I am unable to remove they key from the ignition. I understand I must remove the key assembly to repair this, but how do I do that?
Thanks.

- On Accord and Prelude models, remove steering wheel and steering column lower cover.
- On Civic CRX, Civic and Civic Wagon, remove dashboard lower panel and steering column lower cover.
- On Civic and Civic Wagon models, remove dashboard lower panel, left knee bolster and steering column lower cover.
- On all models, disconnect ignition switch electrical connector from dash fuse box.
- Insert key and place in the "LOCK" or "O" position.
- Remove two switch set screws, then the switch.
- Position suitable punch into hole on lock cylinder housing and depress pin, then remove lock cylinder from housing.
- Reverse procedure to install.
