Chevy Blazer Clunked

Q. I was driving my 1998 Chevy Blazer the other night and was at a stop light. When the light turned green, I slowly put my foot on the accelerator and as I started moving, I heard a clunk sound come from the rear of the vehicle. I’ve only heard it the one time but it concerns me. Can you tell me what it might be and how to check visually to see if something is broken or about to give out.

Chevy Blazer Clunked

The last thing I need is a several hundred dollar repair bill and a broken truck. Could you please help me.

Thanks,
Trevor

A. A one time noise is hard to isolate. Try crawling under there and see if anything looks out of place. If you wouldn't know if anything looks out of place wait till it starts making the noise more consistently and have someone take it for a ride for their opinion as to what the problem is.
