Tracer Has No Spark

Q. When I start my car it turns over perfectly fine, but the spark plugs won't spark and it doesn't start completely. I checked the spark plugs and they are still good, almost brand new. The ignition coil has recently been replaced and the rotor and distributor cap are good. Do you have any idea what's wrong with my car?

Fuel Injection

A. Well, if you are sure there is no spark, then we can eliminat the fuel system as a problem. With the replacement of the ignition coil and the cap and rotor being good, that narrows things down considerably.

At this point it is most likely the ignition module. It is also possible the ignition switch is bad and not powering up the ignition system. To check this, see if you have battery voltage at the (+) terminal of the ignition coil. If you do, then it's probably the ignition module. If not, then it's a bad ignition switch or a wiring problem between the switch and the coil.
