Safety First
Q. I have a 1989 Crown Victoria station wagon. It has the 5.0 liter engine. It also has all the power toys.
My question is:
Is there any way to wire around the switch so I won't need it. I realize this is not the safest trick, but, I really don't feel like dropping more money into a car that's not worth it.Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JimA. Jim, I understand completely about sinking money into an older car, but when it comes to safety, you shouldn't compromise. Either fix the car correctly or don't drive it. I could easily tell you how to bypass that switch, but I won't. Not only is it against federal law, but if something were to happen, I would be personally responsible.
If your Wife, Son or Daughter were to get in the car and start it up while it was in gear, and something happened that caused them to get injured, I would not be able to live with myself. I will not sacrifice safety for economy.
