VW Jetta O2 Sensors

Q. Hello Vince, I had my 1996 VW Jetta GL 2.0 liter manual in the shop to repair a broken door hinge. Check engine codes came back Oxygen Sensor needed to be replaced. How do I replace both front and back O2 Sensors? I purchased Bosch Sensors for my Jetta. Any special tools required?

Thanks,
Patrick

A. The "Main" sensor is mounted in front of the catalytic converter. HO2S #2 is behind the catalytic converter.

You will need a 22 or 24 mm box end wrench to remove it. There is a special O2 sensor socket you can buy if you wish. You can get it at most auto parts stores.
