Camaro VATS And A No Start

Q. Dear sir, this my first time writing to you. My problem is with my 1989 Chevy Camaro RSC V-8 TBI, Automatic transmission. The car simply won't start. I do know that the problem is the VATS on it!

I Guess you might be thinking "Why is this guy writing since he knows what the problem is!?" Well I want to know where all the related components to the VATS are on my vehicle so I can start fixing it. Please note that if the car is hooked to a "INTERROGATOR" it will work and start, that's what prompted me to believe that the VATS is the problem. Do you think it could be a bad ground? Or a bad key pellet? Or a bad ignition switch? Now I could be overlooking something so if I am, please tell me. PLEASE!

Yours,
K.J.

A. Where did you get an "Interrogator"? The most likely problem is a wire broken on the ignition lock cylinder. You can ohm check the pellet. Then unplug the connector at the bottom of the column and ohm check the cylinder side of that plug. Should be same ohms within 20-30. The wires are very thin and break from the movement of turning on the ignition.
