Chevy Blazer S-10 Transfer Case
Q. Hello Vincent, My name is Matt and I have, within the past couple of years, had a new or rebuilt, can't remember, transfer case put on my 1994 Chevy Blazer S-10. I went to put it into four wheel drive the other day to make sure it still worked for the upcoming winter and well I pushed the 4Hi button (it's an automatic four wheel drive) and both lights started blinking and it never engaged.
I did it a couple of times and nothing happened. Also last year before the winter set in I tried to put the car into 4Lo and it made an awful noise and when I punched the gas I went nowhere. I finally got it out of 4Lo but took a little while. Do you know what is going on and if there's an easy way to fix it or any way at all? Please help.
Thank You very much,
MattA. You may have transfer case problems but I would recommend first pulling the transfer case fuse for two minutes. The electronics may be "locked"up. This will clear out any memory and you can start from new. If it still flashes the lights, you may have a bad encoder motor or switch.
