Firebird Has The Shakes

Q. 1988 Pontiac Firebird, 350, V-8, automatic transmission. Mileage is about 127,000. It does not have ABS, just four wheel disc. It has A/C and it doesn't have rack and pinion steering. The problem:

When car is driven above 30 mph and I brake the front end begins to violently shake. Had this similar problem almost a year ago and it turned out to be warped and worn rotors. Replaced them and the pads and everything was fine. Now problem is not only when I brake but sometimes hitting a bump or yesterday I was just going down hill and it started which makes me think it's not the rotors, it got so bad the other day I had to pull over because shaking wouldn't stop. What do you think?

Thanks!
Cristy

A. Sounds like you need to have the front suspension looked at. Possibly worn ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm or center link. Rotors could be out of parallel, tires out of round or out of balance. This should not be to hard to find.
