Suzuki Low Vacuum Readings?
Q. Good afternoon Vincent. I have a Suzuki Wagon R+ and I have fixed a vacuum gauge but the reading is always at 0" HG even when the engine is on. But when you press on the gas pedal, the meter will go up from 0" to 5" or more. Is there something wrong with my car engine?
Regards,
JohnA. If the engine is running, there has to be some kind of vacuum. It's a law of physics. On an engine there is two kinds of vacuums, ported vacuums and manifold vacuum. Ported vacuum is before the throttle plate and increases when you increase throttle. Manifold vacuum is after the throttle plate and decreases when the throttle is applied.
I suspect you have your vacuum gauge hooked up to ported vacuum. Look for a vacuum line that comes directly out of the intake manifold and hook up to there.
