Chevy K-5 Blazer Won't Restart Hot
Q. Hello, The vehicle is a 1985 Chevy K-5 Blazer 4x4 with a 305 engine, 230,000 kilometers, carburetted and a manual transmission. The vehicle has power steering but no A/C. The problem is that the engine will stall after running/driving for anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes and then not restart.
The engine continues to crank, eventually becomes "flooded" but will not start. After letting it sit for 30 minutes or so it will start again. I have been told that it could be the Ignition Control Module inside the distributor? What are your thoughts
Regards,
Andrew
Calgary, ABA. Since it's flooding, I guess it's getting fuel. I would look at all components inside the distributor. With that many miles, I would probably replace the complete distributor. The module is suspect as is the pick-up coil, the housing and the shaft itself.
